4th of July in Galveston

Who could think of a better way to celebrate the 4th of July then with your loved ones on the beach. We were loving it. We had a great day playing games, playing at the beach, grilling fajitas, and watching some fireworks...the few we could see. Definitely a great day!

Since we were in Galveston for a week we pretty much brought everything for Kaylie but the kitchen sink. Her main forms of entertainment were her dress up clothes, ponies, and board games.

One of her new games. The dog in the middle will bark how many spaces you move. Works on her counting skills.

The foot picture...May bother some but still had to put it on. My view from my chair. Wanted you to see what I was able to enjoy.

She would go outside and show off her bathing suit/outfit she was wearing by twirling around for everyone to see.

Even though it was our second time to go to the beach on the trip she decided she wasn't going to have anything to do with it. As you can see we did not let her party pooper spirit stop her daddy and I from enjoying the water.

Giving in against her will. Realized she didn't like being left there to sulk alone.

We were able to get her to join in the fun by giving her daddy seashells for her grandma to have. This was our start to a super fun afternoon of playing in the water.

On a side note...the adorable jelly sandals she is seen wearing in this picture are no longer with our family. One of her shoes decided to run away and join the fishes in the ocean and never return. The shoe has been missed!!! Mommy tried hard but ended up shedding a tear over the loss.

Running is always the best way to get her in the water. Once they hit the waves daddy swoops her up and swings her from side to side. This allows her to relax and move forward in her exploration of the ocean.

I just love this picture. I love seeing how small she is against such an amazingly big ocean.

The more confident she was the more gutsier she became. She had no problem running into the water. We had to make sure one of us was always in front of her in case a wave took her out.

Daddy taught her how to jump waves. She had so much fun doing it. After awhile of doing it with someone she told us to let go of her so she could do it on her own. We just made sure to stand behind her as a buffer from the waves.

I love this picture but when I look at it all I can see is hair. So much hair on her head for such a little face. Makes me smile.

The next few pics are of the many faces of wave jumping. I think this one should be the constipated wave jump.

The oh my goodness I am about to lose my pants look.

If I don't look it isn't going to get me pic.

Her KISS pose

I am the champion!!!

She is kick, kick, kicking as Kaylie would say. Practicing her swimming legs in the ocean.

Chilling

First successful time at flying her own Ariel kite. I was impressed with how well she did.

Once we got it this high she began to freak out over how high it was. We had to pull it back quickly to keep her happy.

For dinner daddy grilled everyone up some yummy fajitas. This is the view he had from the bottom deck of the house we were staying at. Behind the house there was a pond with a mommy duck and five babies. We were trying to feed them but the mommy was scared of us and went the other way. She didn't know what she was missing.

Since the ducks weren't cooperating we tried plan B...go to the 3rd floor and feed the seagulls. This was more successful than the ducks but still left a little to be desired in keeping the attention of a 3 year old and 18 month old.

She seems to take everything in to its fullest. I pray she continues to do that through out her life and enjoy this world for the beautiful things it has for us. Happy 4th everyone even if it is a little late.
