Fall fun

The last few days we have had a lot of fun. I have posted so many different things trying to stay caught up before tomorrows festivities it has gone onto the next page. To see those click on the older posts link at the bottom of the page after you are done. Enjoy

Mall trick or treating

Since the boys were gone all day we found several free things that were going on tonight. After a lot of thought we decided to take the kids to a trunk or treat at another one of the local churches. When we got there the place was deserted. I am not sure what happened but the site we got it off of is a good one so we figured it had to be a typo of the date or time...either way, we needed to go with plan B which was trick or treating at the mall.

I was pretty excited about this. I had never done this but thought it would be pretty cool. The sad thing was by the time we got there most of the stores were pretty much out of candy. Apparently, they had a record number of people compared to previous years and even though you could go from 4 to 6 they were pretty much out of candy within the first 30 minutes. People were in line for over an hour and a half waiting. Craziness!!! We got there at 4:45 and thankfully we found a few stores that still had a stash. They kids are still young and didn't know the difference between all the stores and a few stores so we were able to leave with some happy kiddos. They also had crafts and activities for the kids but we decided that could wait until next year.

Go Rangers!!!

What do you do with three kids 3 and under while the husbands are at the World Series?!? Anything and everything you can. We played, went to the park and then found another free festival which turned out to not be going on when it was supposed to. The kids had a great day and passed out before 8pm. I think we were successful at wearing them out.

My favorite thing from the day. Kaylie and Fletch were sitting in a chair before bed playing and laughing when Kaylie grabbed the walkie talkie and started to say the Pledge of Allegiance in it. I am sure they practice this at school but until now I have never heard her even attempt it. It was all jumbled around but I am pretty sure with all her skipping around she said all of the lines. I was so shocked I asked her to do it again. I love her!!!

Other random...On the way home Kaylie asked for her brown dog. We were half way home and I knew if I wanted a peaceful nights sleep I should check to see if we had it so I pulled into a neighborhood to discover I needed to turn back around. Thankfully, I found him in a corner of their house sitting pretty knowing we would be back. On the way home she passed out and woke up just enough to get comfortable in bed, ask for her dog and give me her nightly protest about going to sleep. As she was in the middle of telling me she didn't want to go to sleep she was already snuggled up with her eyes closed covered up. I think it is more of a principle that she has to protest.

Should we be concerned that our kids are already playing doctor? Thankfully they were taking care of baby doll Kaitlyn. We will be fine as long as it stays that way.

My consignment sale pants and her dress shoes she insisted on wearing. I love the pants and even if she has another growth spurt it isn't a big deal considering I only spent a few dollars on them.

The claw...

I was trying so hard to get a picture of Kaylie's Rangers shirt. As you can see she wanted nothing to do with it. The funny thing is her shirt is actually part of a pair of pajamas. If I didn't tell, you wouldn't have known would you?!?

These kids are way too smart. Who teaches them these things?!? Kaylie had a hard time peddling with the two of them on it. I think they got around one corner before giving up.

Fall Festival

As a way to stay in the Halloween spirit we looked online for some free festivals to attend. This one was at one of the local mega churches in our area. It was pretty much all inside and had a tone of games and activities for the kids to do. Definitely a fun and free way to spend a Friday night. Her favorite parts...the inflatables, her balloon flower, and getting candy from the buckets. She didn't want to play the games she just wanted to get the candy they were giving from that game.

M&M's are her candy of choice. She could eat them all day if we let her.

Storybook Parade

On Friday her school had its last day of activities in honor of red ribbon week. This particular day they had them dress up as their favorite story book character. I know it is a surprise but little miss dressed up as Snow White. As you can see from the pictures she was sooooo happy. She loved how her dress moved and was so excited to show her friends.

Once school started they had a storybook parade and parents were welcome to watch. Sadly, I did something with my pics and can not find them so the preciousness of this experience will have to be from memory but watching her walk down the hall with this look of what they heck are we doing while clutching her princess wand was priceless. I am sad though...I got two of the cutest pics with her teacher and then took a picture of a picture that was taken of her class sitting on a step holding bats. The teachers were smiling and all of the kids including mine were looking as if they wanted to be somewhere other than holding bats in the middle of the library. If I find them it will make a heck of a lot more sense but until then you will have to imagine it from my poorly described memory.

This is not her teacher but one of the teachers that stands at the door for drop off/pick up. Kaylie talks about her all the time so it was fitting to have a picture with her. She is such a sweet and loving person Kaylie smiles every time she sees her.

The Big Orange Pumpkin Patch

On Friday my MOPS group had a play group at the Big Orange Pumpkin Patch in Celina. I have to say this is my favorite pumpkin patch to date. For $6 a person you get feed for the animals, a hay ride, and a pumpkin. In past years the free pumpkins are the small ones but being so close to Halloween you were allowed to take any size except the huge ones. I think this trip was worth the money we spent to get in.

In previous years Kaylie has feed the animals but not gotten too close. This time around she could have spent the entire time with just them. After they took her food she would get so excited she would start jumping up and down while yelling she did it. What she didn't realize is that the animal feed goes every where when you are jumping. Hard lesson to learn but pretty cute to watch.

I have many of these "mid-air" pictures. If you look at the top of her cup a piece is flying out. It was so much fun seeing her get so excited and not be freaked out by the animals taking stuff from her hands. She would even put her palm out flat for them to eat off of it. I know I have said this a lot but we have come a long way!!!

Her feet are actually off the ground. They were her favorite friends to feed. She asked many times to come back to them.

You could tell it was first thing in the morning and the animals were waiting to be feed. All of them would run to the gate and stick their heads out to beg. Much different than previous visits. Even the longhorn wanted to eat. Usually he just stands there ignoring everyone.

This happened as one of our friends was in mid sentence explaining that if you put your cup too close they would take it. She wasn't kidding. Thankfully, our friend's son laughed when he took the cup instead of cried.

After trying to feed one of the goats we quickly realized this goat was the "alpha" goat of the group. We called him the mean goat because every time we would try to feed one he would run over and that goat would run away before they could get a piece. He would run from one person to another causing all the goats to scatter. After a few minutes I held a piece of food in front of him to allow the kids to feed the others and not be scared. Poor goats.

Kaylie was really scared of him. I can't blame her. His horns are a little intimidating. He was actually very sweet and gentle. Slobbered a little more than I would have liked but his sweetness made it ok.

Back again and still hungry. Her face says so much!

I love how all of the kids are in a line feeding all of the goats in a line.

Kaylie was holding food in her hand when she got a little distracted. This sheep freaked her out when he took the food with out her actually giving it to him. Her reaction was priceless.

The rule for picking a pumpkin...If you can carry it you can have it. She didn't end up with this one.

My favorite picture of the day.

This was the pumpkin of choice. It was "Kaylie-sized." She liked it so much she wouldn't let it go.

The four were hypnotized by the tractor. They watched it the entire way around the pumpkin patch.

Do you know how hard it is to get a picture of four three year olds looking at the camera and smiling all at the same time?!? As we came to see it was pretty much impossible so instead I put the one that made me smile the most. This picture was pretty much a bloopers pic. Kaylie was infatuated with her chap stick and wouldn't stop trying to put it on. The boys...well...they are boys and really did not want to be sitting. Can't blame them I guess. Their was way too much to do and sitting was not part of it.

For our first time on a hay ride I have to say it was a huge success. You never know how she is going to react and considering once off she wanted to go again I think we had fun.

Once off it was time for us to go so we could get to school on time. I think this was the first time I felt like we had to leave too soon. With amazing weather I wouldn't have traded that time with her for anything.
