Finally

I have just finished and posted my last Disney post. In addition to this one I posted three others. I hope you enjoyed following along with our trip as much as I did writing about it. Since my posts have been so long you will have to click on the older posts button down at the bottom to get to the others. Enjoy.

The End

After 10 days of being away we were finally on our way back home to save our puppy dogs. We were sad to leave but were happy to be back in our own home. This time around Jason had a good idea of bringing her pillow, blanket, and animals with us in hopes of her taking a nap. To our surprise it worked. She passed out pretty quickly after settling in on the first flight. she slept through the landing of the first as well as take off of the second. She woke up right before we landed back in Dallas.

This trip gave us such amazing memories. It was the first time I felt comfortable taking Kaylie on a trip and not fearing she would get sick. She did so much better than I would have even expected. Jason and I loved watching her exceed our expectations and all the laughter and smiles that followed it. Even though she will not remember this as she gets older Jason and I will. I feel so blessed to have been able to share this with the two of them.

Mother's Day

Day 8 was probably one of my favorite days for many reasons.

1) It was Mother's Day and I was with my loving husband and beautiful baby girl.
2) We were on vacation.
3) We were on vacation at Disney

I can't wait to see what next Mother's Day has in store for me. I have a feeling it will be hard to top this!

Day 8...our final day at Disney before heading back home early the next morning led us back to the Magic Kingdom to ride the things we had missed and to go back to the things we enjoyed the first time around.

The weather was absolutely gorgeous. The humidity which had plagued us the day before was gone and the breeze was wonderful. We slept in, I was given a precious card from my baby girl and husband, had a great breakfast, and took our time getting out. This was the first day we were not at the park close to it opening. I think it was 10:30 ish when we got to the MK.

K enjoying our 10 minute trip by boat to the MK.

Disney put a nice little touch in helping us celebrate MD. As we walked in they gave out carnations. Kaylie was so excited to give me the one she picked out for me.

I love this picture. We were both in great moods. The picture couldn't have turned out any better. The funny thing was this was the first day she was actually letting me hold her and do things with her and it had nothing to do with Mother's Day.

In Tomorrow Land about to go into the elevator to ride the rocket ships.

Pretty sure she is completely aware her sunglasses are on backwards. We don't even try to fix them any more. As long as she wears them we are happy.

Love ya baby. So glad we got this well needed break that went so incredibly well.

Very high up...she isn't too happy about that.

When she first got on this ride she was terrified. As the ride started she didn't want to do it until J told her to fly. After that every thing was good.

I love this picture. Not only do they look adorable but the colors in the back are amazing.

Side note...don't try and turn around to take pictures when spinning in circles. I didn't feel that great when I got off. Funny thing was another mom did the same thing and felt the same way. The things we do for a good pic.

Right after this we ended up randomly catching the start of the Monster's Inc. show. This was another show just like the one at EPCOT where they use the audience to entertain the audience. I am pretty sure Kaylie didn't have a clue what was happening but I got a good laugh out of it.

Buzz Light Year Ride...she did great shooting the monsters.

After Buzz Light Year we decided to sit down and eat while taking turns going on Space Mountain. This ended up taking a good hour or so and by the time we were ready Kaylie was starting to become severely exhausted so we decided to hit the rides she loved before going home to take a nap and miss the hottest part of the day.

The first two times she rode this she had a blast so we decided to do it again.

I love that you can barely see her head over the steering wheel.

We knew she was exhausted when she freaked out during this ride and then started asking to go home. Poor baby was so tired.

She was so tired we decided to hold off on going back on the Goofy Train even though she was very persistent. We knew that we could cause her to start screaming and ruin her good memories of the trip keeping her from wanting to ride rides in the future so we decided to wait and do it again when we came back later that evening.

This was the cutest thing when it was done. Kaylie was being given pixie dust. It wasn't cute two weeks later when I was trying to get it out of her hair. I am still finding it in her hair.

As we were leaving we realized the parade was about to start so we found a great spot close to the front and watched it go by before heading back. She loved it. J and I were so glad we got to see at least one before leaving.

Pluto coming out first was a great way to keep her attention.

She waved at everything. So precious how she tells every thing hello and good bye.

Aside from the food on her face I thought this profile pic was so sweet and innocent looking.

Sorry for all the parade pictures. Had to make sure to include all of the princesses. Snow White is Kaylie's favorite.

It amazes me how detailed EVERYTHING is in the park. They do not skimp on anything!

Mommy's favorite. Poor beast got cut off. No love for him.

Daddy's favorite.

We got back to the hotel around 3:30 ish to cool off and relax. Since Kaylie asked to come back to take a nap we figured it wouldn't be a problem getting her to sleep. On the very last day of our trip Miss K took her first "real" nap in a bed. She was so happy to be sleeping she didn't want to get up. We woke her up at 6 so we could go back to the Magic Kingdom for there magic hours (open late for guests of Disney hotels) and she wouldn't move. We ended up carrying her half asleep to the boat. She finally woke up when we got into the boat to transfer. Poor thing. It finally caught up to her.

When we got there we went and rode several of the rides she enjoyed over again in an attempt to liven her up some. We knew she wanted to ride the Goofy Train but knew it wouldn't be smart the way she was so we went ahead and road some of the things we wanted to ride.

We went over to splash mountain and thankfully, the line was only ten minutes long. The first time I ever rode this we waited 4 hours for it. You can enjoy it more when you don't have to wait very long. Right before the end of the ride everything stopped and a cast member came by asking if anyone had gotten out of the boat. Come to find out the cameras caught someone getting out of the boat after the big drop and they were trying to find them. Not sure where they went but they never found them.

By the time I got back to J it had been a good 30 minutes. At this point Kaylie was more than done. You can tell by the next picture. It was pretty hard to miss a child passed out in the stroller.

She actually tried to get herself comfortable but after a failed attempt Jason helped. This was the deciding factor when it came to the Goofy Train. At this point we figured there was no way. She was sad but let it go as she fell back asleep.

Since she was out cold J and I decided to continue riding the things we wanted to. We did one more trip on the train roller coaster before heading out. While I was on it the fireworks began. I met back up with J and Kaylie and enjoyed watching the fireworks as a family on the last night of our trip. Definitely a great way to put an end to an amazing experience. We picked up a few souvenirs for little miss and headed back to the hotel.

My Mother's Day was amazing and I felt incredibly blessed and honored to celebrate it in a magical place with two people who love me unconditionally. Thanks for a great day. I love you both so much!

Animal Kingdom

Day 7 took us to the Animal Kingdom. With Kaylie's love for animals we were so excited to come here knowing this would be something she ate up. As excited as we were it turned out to be our least favorite day. It started out well but as the day went on things started to fall apart. Thankfully, out of 8 days of travel this was our first day to have a bad day so needless to say we knew it had to come at some point. Thankfully, this turned out to be our only yucky day.

We started out on the animal safari ride. The trick to seeing the animals is to go and see them first thing in the morning so you can catch them before nap time. We were so glad we did. A lot of the Animal Kingdom is enclosed by trees so a breeze is hard to come by. Put that with 90 + degree weather and I can not imagine waiting in this line any later than we did.

The ride itself was amazing. They have set up a beautiful Savannah type environment for many of the animals to run around in. It was gorgeous! In this environment the animals are in charge not the humans so if the ostrich decides to stop in the middle of the road...which he did...the jeeps have to stop. Thankfully, the two times we did we had a good view of the animals we were watching.

The birds had nests all over this little piece of land they were inhabiting. I enjoyed seeing them sitting on the nests and how big some of the eggs were. The other thing I found interesting was seeing the hippos huddled together. I never knew they hung out in groups.

Crocodiles...not my favorite. Really glad we didn't get stuck next to them. Kaylie enjoyed, "snap, snap, snapping" at her daddy just like the crocodiles do.

Part of the scenery. They did a great job creating a serene environment for the animals.

I know these are rare but I can't for the life of me remember what they are called. I like the color on there faces. In person it was very bright blue.

She still loves giraffes.

I had a death grip on her. She was squirming and I feared her going over board.

Right before we had gotten to the lions I switched out my lenses from my long one to my short so I could get some close ups of Kaylie. I wish I hadn't done that because the lions were precious laying up on the rocks. It was already so warm out they had already decided to take a nap even though it was only 10 am.

On the top of the car right above our seat they had all the possible animals you could see and there names. This would have been helpful as I am writing this post. :)

Most likely the culprit of the delay in the ride. We didn't mind because we were getting a great breeze from the trip.

Right after the safari we walked by a bird show that was just about to start. This was so well done! It was so well done, educational, and made us laugh the entire time. I loved seeing how well it kept Kaylie's attention.

After the bird show we decided to take a map and walk the animal trails. This is where we started to fall apart. My camera decided it wanted to have some problems again and refused to take very many pictures. You could hear it trying to adjust but then nothing. We had actually gone to visit the monkeys prior to this but were not able to capture them swing from rope to rope because of it. Thankfully my amazing husband stepped up and for the second time on this trip fixed it so his wife could do what she loves best and take pictures of her family. Come to find out the lens was stuck from Kaylie spilling milk two days before and for some reason it just now decided to have problems. I was happy when it was fixed.

While walking on these trails I saw another guy with a gigantic Nikon camera and stopped him to ask him for help. I was pretty desperate! He was wonderful and showed me one thing I needed to do differently but other than that everything else looked good. Who would have known it was all because of some milk.
After we went on there new roller coaster Kaylie was ready to do something for her so we went and ate before going to the Finding Nemo show. At this point Kaylie was exhausted and wanted nothing to do with this show. Since it wasn't keeping any of our attention and Kaylie kept trying to sprawl out all over J and I we decided it was time to leave so we ended up heading over to the carnival type area that they had set up. It looked just like you were at one with carnival games and lights. Pretty interesting considering it didn't look anything like the rest of the park. The way they tied it in was by making it somewhat of a dinosaur theme.
She got to ride the dinosaur ride that went up and down just like the Dumbo ride. She actually let me sit with her with daddy in the back. She kept her arms flying the entire ride.

After the dinosaurs Jason wanted to ride a ride that would spin you around. On this particular day I was a little sick to my stomach so I decided it would not be in any one's best interest for me to go on it so Kaylie and I went over to "The Dig." It was a gigantic dinosaur play area for kids. The only problem was it was 2:30 and very hot. The ground and equipment were radiating heat. I was starting to over heat and really not enjoying myself at this point in time. I did enjoy seeing her play but I was done. We played here for about 20 minutes while waiting for her daddy and then went over to the ride to wait for him.

Very proud of herself...I love the sunglasses. She was so good at wearing them.

I think the thing that did me in was the over abundance of stairs and ramps I chased her up and slides I went down.

I thought this was a pretty cool picture. I was excited to see she didn't mind walking across the bridge. It led you to an area filled with sand and fossils to dig out. Pretty cool set up.

Before leaving we decided to enjoy the absolute best thing to cure you from over heating...Frozen lemonade. Just what we needed!!! I was so happy after this. Helped us forget how hot and cranky we were.

Now that I had a camera that worked we decided to try and get one more family picture. I love the parrot in the back ground. Glad to see we are still smiling.

Pretty parrot
All said and done our day at the Animal Kingdom wasn't awful it just wasn't great. Since everything is very brown and the trees everything around you kept a breeze from being able to come through we were miserably hot. I am pretty sure if it wasn't for that the day would have gone a little bit better.

Exhausted after a long and hot day. So glad she was able to get in a cat nap. She had been so good this entire trip. We were so proud of her.

On the way back to our room we tried and succeeded in not waking her up. As J went to lay her in bed she immediately popped straight up and and told us, "I had fun today." That was it for her nap. Surprisingly, that was all she needed. She was in a great mood the rest of the day.

We debated on what to do the rest of the day. We thought about going back to one of the other parks but knew pretty quickly that was not what Kaylie wanted to do. Since our room looked out over the pool Miss K had been chomping at the bit to go to "the beach" as she had been calling it. Not wanting to disappoint her we put on our suits and off we went. She could not have been happier. She "kick, kick, kicked" as she would say, splashed, and spent a good amount of time jumping in and getting out of the water. She even let Jason put her under water when she jumped in. We have been amazed at how much she has loved the water this year. We couldn't be happier that we have a water baby. She really wants to learn how to swim on her own.
