Crazy but fun! (1 of 3 weekend posts)

That sums our weekend up. It was crazy but absolutely a blast. Friday night we got together with some friends. They have a little boy a year older than Kaylie. The two love to run up and down the long hallway and play. It is great to watch her play and imitate the other boy. She is really starting to develop a personality and has started to enjoy playing with others.

Saturday we had the opportunity to watch the Fletch man so his mommy and daddy could go on there baby moon. We were so excited to do this for them before baby Lucas arrives. Since Kaylie and Fletch love to play together we knew it would be fine. Surprisingly, the two were wonderful together. We really only had one fight. This happened when Kaylie decided to put her ruff ruff in the pool for a swim. After seeing it Fletch decided he would try it too. She did not appreciate him doing this even though she had just done it herself. Ruff Ruff was one of several non pool toys that made it into the pool. After spending 24 hours with 2 children that are pretty much the same age I have a new respect for moms of multiples. Jason and I were exhausted by bed time.

This was our one argument. Ruff Ruff is really wet and the other one put her bottom paws in.

In this picture they look happy but don't let it fool ya. They were trying to be the one to spin the wheel. Other thing...look at Kaylie's leg and belly. I love seeing some pudge!

On a side note...Kaylie is really into role playing with her toys. She takes her dolls and feeds them, puts them down for night night, and carries them around. Her new thing is to take her ruff ruff and feed him before she feeds herself. As you go to give her a bite she sticks her dog in the way and makes a slurping noise. Absolutely adorable until the dog gets covered in sweet potatoes. I can't help but love it! Last night she picked up Bailey's bowl and took it to the closet. After telling her they had already been fed she continued to open the door and take out some food. Scooping food is still hard for her so she usually ends up with small amounts. She put it in the bowl and right as we were about to get on to her we looked over to see her putting her stuffed dog (Ruff Ruff) up to the edge to eat. She made the slurping noises, petted him and then walked away. Thinking about how far she has come since birth just brings tears to my eyes. She is one smart little girl.

Today we finished off our weekend with a birthday party for one of Kaylie's neighborhood friends. They had it at one of the splash parks close to our house. This was the first time Kaylie had been to one so it was definitely an adventure. After about 30 minutes and mommy splashing in the water and jumping around with her (fully clothed) she ventured into the water. I think by the end of it she was happy to be there. After we got home she took a nap and refused to get up until after 5. She was definitely tired!!!

This was her first attempt at touching the water. It took another 5 or so minutes for me to get the pictures below.

It has been a long time since we have had a sick free weekend. I definitely cherished it!

P.S. - 4 days of school left with kids and 1 more for a work day. Summer is just around the corner. Can't wait to spend time with a healthy child!

It has been awhile since Kaylie would even get near the hospital bear. I don't know why but she started to hate even looking at him. The other day I found it and put it where she would see it. That was all it took.

The hospital bear: This bear was given to us right after Kaylie was born by a dear friend's mom that I absolutely love to death. We took this bear and used it as a way to document Kaylie's growth. The bear is only 6 inches long. I am thrilled she actually wants to hold it again.

This one was taken on 6/16/07. Kaylie was about a month old and weighed 2 lbs. 9 oz.

Picture was taken at for her first birthday. Her she weighed 13lbs. 11 oz., 25.5inches.

Weekend fun

This past weekend was a blast. We really did not do a whole lot. That is probably why we enjoyed ourselves. We pretty much relaxed and watched our little one. What more could you ask for.

Just in case you are wondering...Jason's lawn mower was off.

She loved mowing the lawn with daddy. Little did she know hers only blew bubbles.

On Memorial Day we went over for our first pool party of the season. Kaylie and Fletch had a blast. Kaylie definitely remembers playing in the pool from last year. This year she can enjoy it even more since she is able to walk. I was shocked at how well she was able to keep her balance in the water. The one time she went under she was a trooper and didn't even shed a tear. I am so excited about taking her swimming this summer.

For her birthday her nonna gave her a water baby. She loves this thing. The minute it started floating away she would let off this pterodactyl scream of terror until she was safely back in her arms.

Two dirty kids got to take a bath together. The first time we did this Kaylie wanted nothing to do with the tub or the water. This time the two of them were laughing it up. They were splashing each other and imitating each other the entire time. I personally like Fletch in this picture. We would tell him to kiss her and this is what he would do.

1 of many posts

This is the first of many posts I have done tonight. Since Friday I have posted 7 times so we hope you enjoy. I know I have posted A LOT of pictures but it was too hard to choose between just a few. Thanks for letting us share our lives with you! We truly love it.

2 YEAR WELL BABY

For the first time ever Ms. Kaylie Marie received all A+ at her well baby. Woo Hoo I am pretty sure they do not give below an A but still...I am used to A- with some delays written down under the note section.

Stats:

Weight: 19 lbs. 9 oz (<3%)>
Height: 31.3 inches (5 to 10%) In the past she has been <5>

Head: 18.3 (25 to 50%) Usually at 25%

Dr. G. was thrilled with Kaylie's progress. Even though her weight is not ideal he thinks she is making tremendous progress with her milestones including her speech. He told me 40 words is great and the fact that she is stringing some of those words together to make sentences is even better. He thinks that as long as she continues with all of her therapies she will continue to progress. I loved hearing that.

We talked about her feeding. For now it is pretty much where it has been. He thinks in time she will figure it out and move past some of this. We agree. Until then we will keep on trucking.

In regards to the G-button...he is definitely ok not doing it. With the amount of progress she has made he is not concerned. His concern came when she wasn't growing and wasn't meeting milestones. Now that she is somewhat doing both he is ok.

Weight...Our goal was to make it to 20lbs by 2. Since she had some feeding issues this past week she actually lost again. I guess we will try for her "corrected" 2 year.

Actual birthday day

Sunday May 17th was Kaylie's birthday day. Jason's and my family came into town to spend time with us and celebrate. Jason, Kaylie and I waned to thank you for that. It meant so much to us and feel so blessed to be able to share this with you. Thanks!

Fortunately, Kaylie was healthy for her party on Saturday. Unfortunately, Kaylie was not healthy for her actual birthday. At first we thought she was exhausted. She had pretty much gone non stop the night before staying up way past her bed time. After about an hour of her being up we knew there was more going on. We later found out (on Monday) that she had Hand, Foot, and Mouth disease which is a very painful virus that you can pretty much do nothing about. Poor baby girl had gigantic sores in her mouth making her miserable.

Other than being sick I think Kaylie enjoyed as much of her day as she could.

Here was one of our major signs she was not feeling well.

Post nap...at this point she has started feeling pretty miserable. The bear came from grandpa Bill. She loves it. It is actually bigger than her.

This is her new Pooh ride on toy. She loves it. She can just sit on it and mess with all of the buttons and watch things spin.

Another gift from mom and dad...a bubble mower. The best part was when dad decided he needed to push it while Kaylie chased him.

This was Kaylie's big present from her mommy and daddy. We actually bought it and set it up in April when it was on sale. We did not see the point in keeping it hidden until her birthday. With the weather so nice we knew we needed to take advantage of it and let her enjoy it.

My Gym

After having her first birthday at our house I learned never to do that again. This year we decided to have it at My Gym. Thank goodness for My Gym. First of all if we would have had it at our house we would have had to deal with the monsoon like weather we had. It rained pretty much ALL day! The other beautiful thing was that My Gym takes care of every thing. They set every thing, run the entire party, serve the kids, and then clean up. What more could you ask for.

The best part was that Kaylie and all her friends had a blast. Thanks to everyone who came to celebrate. We feel so blessed to have such amazing friends and family!
