Digging a hole

A first

Today she ate a few bites of a donut.  I know that is hard to believe but this was her first donut and she did it in style making sure to order a daddy special of chocolate glaze with sprinkles.  She only took a few bites but loved it.  Personally, my favorite thing about this picture is her chocolate covered smile. 

I love spring!!!

I love spring time.  Just about the time I have become stir crazy from lack of outdoor fun spring roles around and everything falls back into place.  Our outdoor activities significantly increase and we find ourselves outside more than we are in.  One Friday evening we met up with the Stall family to have dinner and play.  The play area we went to had an old box car and several little play houses as well as a Texas sized maze for the kids to run through.  As long as we were in the maze with her Kaylie had a great time.  She would try and hide from us.  She would bust out laughing whenever some one found her.  As long as the big kids didn't run into her she was fine. 

The entertainer

This guy was quit the character. Apparently he loves to get the laughter from the crowd and performs according to that. He did not disappoint. He is one of the younger ones and you could see that by his energetic outbursts. He would run back and forth, throw hay in the air, hit the windows, and roll all over the place. One of the workers said he is definitely a star at the zoo. I am not sure who had a harder time walking away from this exhibit...me or Kaylie. Pretty sure it was me.

 

His buddy.  As you can see he wanted nothing to do with the crowds.  He stayed here and then decided to try and go back to the door he was let out of to see if he could maneuver his way back inside.  He wasn't that lucky.

Zoo Day

Our last day of spring break was spent with family exploring the new exhibit at the zoo.  I have to say it was awesome.  We were pleasently surprised considering the things we had heard about this zoo prior to the new additions.  The weather was perfect and the company was great.  Kaylie is old enough to know what she is looking at and can actually appreciate what she is seeing.  Add in time with her Garrett and we were good to go.  Thankfully we got there early because the animals were out and active, the weather was cool, and it wasn't too busy.  We left right when the crowds got to be too much which was right when the little ones were ready to go.  Overall, I can see us going back many times.

She loved feeding the goats.  I thought she was going to be scared but she laughed the entire time.

They have an interactive kids area.  It was a nice way to wind down.
