MOPS egg hunt

With this being her 3rd Easter she has this egg hunt thing figured out! This year she was unstoppable. She had picked up so many we put some back down for the other kids. All said and done her basket was filled to the top. I was so proud of her. The best part was watching her open each egg, pull out the chocolate, open it, lick it, and then hand it to me. I had to stop her after she opened the 3rd egg with chocolate. It was so sweet watching her. Knowing how far we have come I cherish these moments for everything they are.

When we first started she did not want to hold her basket. After the 2nd egg she grabbed it and took off.

I like that she has her tongue hanging out.

Checking out the goods.

I like that puppy is peeking over the basket.

Park

Right before we did the Easter egg hunt we spent some time at the park playing. If we didn't know it before we have confirmed the fact that she is truly a monkey. She is getting really good at the monkey bars with me barely holding her and is trying to climb things that are so tall I can't spot her once she gets to the top. Now that she is her dare devil/destructo phase I have turned into the relaxed parent on the outside/nervous wreck parent on the inside.

Buddies

I love the look she is giving him. She is trying to decide if she is going to let him stay or boot him out.

She decided to be nice and let him stay.

Once they left Shiner quickly claimed what he thinks is his.

Nuggets please

At therapy we have been working on eating chicken nuggets for a good month. The first few times she had them she completely shut down and refused to touch them. Since she has slowly started to touch them and taste them but would not eat them. A month later she is now chewing them and finally swallowed them.

The other day she came out from Physical Therapy and handed me her pop and sat next to me so I could finish filling out some paper work. As I finished I realized I was still holding her pop but could hear her chewing something. I turned to find her going to town on her left over nuggets. I was so proud of her I made the receptionist tell her therapist what had happened. What a huge accomplishment. She went to the car and was so proud of herself she let me take a picture to send to daddy. She nibbled on them the rest of the way home. Woo Hoo!!!

Story time

Kaylie loved having grandma read to her. At one point she had her read the entire set of Dora books.

Its spring time in Texas

This year we have had the craziest winter I can remember since I have lived in Dallas. Not only did we have some of the coldest temps on record we had four different rounds of snow the last being over the first day of spring. Kind of ironic!!! This time around we got 5 to 8 inches of snow depending on where you looked around our house. Yet again it was gorgeous! I even got to build Bob the snowman with Jason. Definitely an interesting way to start off the first day of spring.

March 20th - Grandma Chris got to enjoy the snow with us. She loved every minute of it.

Around 9:30 pm - It snowed all night long.

March 21st @ 9:30am

9:00 am - We got anywhere from 5 to 8 inches of snow.

She has on three sweaters and her jacket. We could only find one glove so the other two are socks.

Grandma Chris decided to try and adventure out with us. She was the most excited out of all of us. She hasn't gotten to see snow like this in a long time. For us it is starting to become second nature.

This is the "I still don't know what to make of this stuff" face and is completely ok not leaving the porch.

This was one of two spots we measured. The other spot came in at about 5 inches.

It makes Jason just as happy to see how much Shiner and Bailey like the snow as it does for us to watch Kaylie. They love it. They could spend hours chasing snowballs that would break up in the air before actually getting to them.

Kaylie did not like being dragged into this picture.

My poor flowers. We almost planted all of our spring flowers the weekend before but decided to wait just in case their was another freeze. So glad we waited. Thankfully, they perked back up the next day.

Creating Bob...Kaylie was pretty much done at this point.

Bob lived a good life. After 24 hours and 60 degree temps we said good bye to our dear friend.
