Happy Birthday...

To ME!!! What a better way to celebrate my birthday than a day filled with snow. Not just a little snow...A LOT of snow. This morning when we woke up we had already gotten a good 2 inches on the ground. The view from our bedroom window was absolutely beautiful. Nothing had been walked in and no cars had driven on the roads. It was definitely untouched beauty.

As the day went on the snow continued and is still falling as of 9:15 pm. By the looks of it we have easily gotten 5 to 6 inches and it does not look like it is going to stop until around 5 am on Friday. All said and done it looks like we could get close to a foot of snow. I know this does not compare to the East coast but considering we live in Texas this is a big deal.

Thankfully, the roads were not that bad so we kept our play date with Way Way, Claire, and baby Gavin. We bundled them all up and went out to play. Claire acted as if she lived in a town where it snowed all the time. I was floored when she threw herself on the floor and attempted to make snow angels. How do kids figure these things out? Kaylie on the other hand wanted nothing to do with it. The one attempt she had at making a snow ball was unsuccessful when she realized this stuff was cold. At least she tried!!!
Fun Fact...I was born during a major snow storm.

This picture is Kaylie's let me in our else look! She was done!!!

Jason got home a little after 5pm and surprised me these beautiful tulips. I love them! They definitely made me feel special! Helps they are my favorite color.

Right after Jason got home we decided to head back out and see if she would play some. At first she was hesitant. After walking up and down the driveway and making a hide and seek game out of it she was happy. She kept wanting to take Jason by the hand and walk in a big circle down the driveway and through the snow. At one point she was so deep in it she lost her shoe. At this point in the night the snow was up close to her knees.

Once we had finished playing we went in and all got into our comfy clothes. We started a fire and ate Chinese food. Jason and Kaylie brought me my presents. This last picture was taken with my nifty new flash that Jason gave me. Thanks for a great day!
