Cranberry Festival

This was an interesting and fun experience all at the same time.  If you have been to the state fair of Texas you can get an idea  of what this was like.  They had lots of booths and lots of food.  We expected everything to be cranberry related and surprisingly it wasn't.  By the time we were ready to leave we had eaten enough for a small army.  Our favorite food of the day...fried Oreos.  Yummy!

Fried Cranberries

Considering our child has feeding issues I had to put pictures of everything Kaylie ate.  Prior to this piece of pizza she had already inhaled a hot dog minus the bun.

While eating lunch we sat on a hill where bubbles were being blown by a bubble machine.  This occupied her for awhile allowing us to sit, relax, and enjoy the weather/atmosphere.

Fried Oreos...We got Kaylie to try a bite.  At first she was confused by the different tastes and textures but afterwards she was pretty happy by it.  She decided one bite was all she needed and finished things off with a gigantic cookie.

Don't let the happy look fool you!  She wanted nothing to do with getting a piggy back ride but refused to walk either.  This was the sign for us to head home.

On the farm

The first full day in Wisconsin we decided to take the kids to an apple picking farm about an hour away so we could have apples to enjoy for the week.  I have always wanted to do something like this and I was not disappointed.  We picked several types one of which was special to the area and it was delicious.  We had our fill of caramel apples, apple desserts, and apple cookies.  We definitely left there fat full and happy.  The farm was open and the kids loved running around.

We were able to talk the owner of the farm into giving us a hay ride.  He was more than happy to and gave us a lot of information about the history of the farm and how the planting and picking of apples has evolved over the years.

Once we finished with the apples we drove down the path to pick raspberries.  Kaylie really enjoyed this part because I love raspberries and she picked a bunch for me to have.  That night I definitely enjoyed them in a hot, warm raspberry crumble.

She was so excited to show me what she had picked she ran around yelling for me until she found me.  Made me feel super special.

Afterwards we went to a local meat market to get food for the week as well as to enjoy an outside picnic lunch.  Kaylie and I were quit entertained with the statues and signs they had here.

Our last stop was to get vegetables at a farmers market while the kids played on a play scape and ran through both corn mazes...one for kids and one for adults.

She was trying to get daddy to go where she wanted him to go.  It actually got us to the exit.

Wisconsin here we come!

In the car and ready to get on a plane for our week long stay in Wisconsin.

Chetek, Wisconsin

Recently we had the opportunity to take a trip with two other families to explore the beautiful state of Wisconsin.  Since Tony grew up there we knew it was going to be a great trip and sure enough it was that and more.  Since it was the end of October we were able to leave the 100+ weather to freeze our hinneys off in 60+ weather.  Thankfully, having packed accordingly we never noticed it was cold.  We spent an entire week here on a private island in the town of Chetek.  It is in northern Wisconsin, small and quaint.  We are already talking about when we all want to go back.

Hello Kitty

I know this is cheesy but I liked her second day of school outfit enough to take another round of pictures.  She entertained me by hamming it up and trying to fly like an airplane.

First day of school

I was not sure what her first day of school would bring but I ended up being pleasantly surprised.  She ended up getting in the shower singing, "I'm going to preschool" over and over again.  We were able to get everything done that needed to and out the door.  She didn't think twice about going into her class and immediately walked in and started with her new routine.  Happy first day of school baby girl!

Car seat

This is a picture of Kaylie taking advantage of having both seats in to transport her and her baby.  Can't believe she is actually starting to look big in her seat.

3 in a row

When we were looking for a new car we knew we needed space to grow as a family.  That is what sold us on the car we ended up buying.  The second row is big enough to fit three car seats and was actually put to the test when Kaylie and I went to the children's museum with the Stall's.  We used our other car seat as well as one of theirs and off we went.  I was surprised that they actually got along as well as they did.  I would have thought being that close together would have caused problems.
