Garrett turns 1

Right after Claire's birthday we took a trip to Garland to celebrate Garrett's first birthday. Kaylie loves Garrett and was super excited to be able to celebrate with him. Happy birthday little man!

Kaylie taking a picture of the birthday boy.

The look on his face makes me think he liked our present.

Claire's 2nd birthday

Two Saturdays ago we were invited to Ms. Claire's 2nd birthday. We had soooooo much fun!!! Claire invited Mr. Al the music man to come and play. They all had a blast. Happy birthday Claire.

Arms full of love

Jason got Kaylie up and ready to go. She insisted on bringing her babies...all of them!!!

Here is a picture of her comforter. She refuses to use it on her bed to sleep.

Happy Birthday...

To ME!!! What a better way to celebrate my birthday than a day filled with snow. Not just a little snow...A LOT of snow. This morning when we woke up we had already gotten a good 2 inches on the ground. The view from our bedroom window was absolutely beautiful. Nothing had been walked in and no cars had driven on the roads. It was definitely untouched beauty.

As the day went on the snow continued and is still falling as of 9:15 pm. By the looks of it we have easily gotten 5 to 6 inches and it does not look like it is going to stop until around 5 am on Friday. All said and done it looks like we could get close to a foot of snow. I know this does not compare to the East coast but considering we live in Texas this is a big deal.

Thankfully, the roads were not that bad so we kept our play date with Way Way, Claire, and baby Gavin. We bundled them all up and went out to play. Claire acted as if she lived in a town where it snowed all the time. I was floored when she threw herself on the floor and attempted to make snow angels. How do kids figure these things out? Kaylie on the other hand wanted nothing to do with it. The one attempt she had at making a snow ball was unsuccessful when she realized this stuff was cold. At least she tried!!!
Fun Fact...I was born during a major snow storm.

This picture is Kaylie's let me in our else look! She was done!!!

Jason got home a little after 5pm and surprised me these beautiful tulips. I love them! They definitely made me feel special! Helps they are my favorite color.

Right after Jason got home we decided to head back out and see if she would play some. At first she was hesitant. After walking up and down the driveway and making a hide and seek game out of it she was happy. She kept wanting to take Jason by the hand and walk in a big circle down the driveway and through the snow. At one point she was so deep in it she lost her shoe. At this point in the night the snow was up close to her knees.

Once we had finished playing we went in and all got into our comfy clothes. We started a fire and ate Chinese food. Jason and Kaylie brought me my presents. This last picture was taken with my nifty new flash that Jason gave me. Thanks for a great day!

Grocery Fun

Today was the first time we let Kaylie sit in one of the big carts. She did great at Wal Mart. Kroger...well...that was a different story. At least she and Eli had some quality cousin time together.

Valentine's Day Party

I love Valentine's Day and so I was thrilled to have a little party with our play group friends. It was so much fun watching them play, have snacks and dig into their treats. Happy Valentine's Day everyone!!!

After bath fun

First time I let her try and dry her hair on her own. She did great and then proceeded to dry Meow Meow's hair.

Lollipop, lollipop

On Saturday we went to Grace's 3rd birthday at WOGA. Kaylie had a blast. Unfortunately I didn't bring my camera so I made sure to take pictures of Kaylie with the gigantic pop they gave her. Happy birthday Grace. Thanks for letting us celebrate with you!

In case you were wondering...

This is the reason I couldn't do any house work during Kaylie's nap.

As of right now bed time is great. She goes down fine but when she wakes up she freaks out so after being exhausted we decided to let her cry it out. Last night she cried for about 10 minutes and then when to her bed to go to sleep. This happened 2 more times but each time she went back to sleep without us even getting out of bed. Hopefully, this will set a new precedent!!!

Nap time has been a different story. Yesterday she refused to go to sleep. We had a ton of crying and frantic I want out behavior. After giving in I let her out. Today I did not give in. As hard as it is to let them cry it out I knew I needed to do it. She was exhausted and needed it! After about 20 minutes of some serious crying she got quiet. After another 15 minutes or so I went to check on her and before I got around the corner I could hear her snoring so I knew she had not made it back to her bed. Not knowing what I was about to find I took my phone out to see her smooshed between the baby gate and her door that she had tried to close. She was only able to close it half way. At least she is getting a nap.
