My Gym part 2

With all of the excitement Kaylie was a little overwhelmed. Usually she loves the bee ride. This time she wanted nothing to do with it.

Can you guess what the theme of the party was?!? I questioned this until we walked into Party City and she said Elmo after seeing a picture of him. Decision made!

Kaylie definitely loves her daddy. With so much going on she was attached to him. Her poor daddy couldn't even walk away without Kaylie running after him.

Post My Gym...

After My Gym our family came back to our house for dinner and cake. For the past few weeks we had been taking cupcakes to therapy in hopes that she would take a few bites on her actual birthday. Needless to say after an outfit change and a thorough wiping down of the space around her we figure we will shoot for her 3rd birthday. =) At least I got to see her do it in therapy. I think there was just too much going on! I can't blame her!

We decided to stay with the theme and have Elmo come to our house.

She enjoyed playing with the cake. That was about it. The minute she took a bite she freaked. Thank goodness she had eaten an hour before.
Instead of eating it herself she decided to feed it to me. She got the biggest kick out of this!

The chair she is sitting in was her favorite thing. She loved it so much she opened the rest of her presents from it. It actually opens up to a bed.

This bear was the other big hit. She carries it around every where. It is as big as she is!

Shocked and Amazed

I am shocked and amazed that we made it through our first official hair cut with out any screaming or completely out of control crying. Instead, she ran up to the girl and handed her her dog. Are you my child?!? Kaylie did amazing. I am so proud of her. Hopefully now she will not look like an unkept rat whenever her hair is down. It had gotten so bad I hated leaving her hair down. I guess I was nervous about this for nothing!

She definitely needed her bangs cut. They were way down on her eyes. I felt so bad for her. During the cut we also were told she has at least two calics. One of them is by her bangs. That is part of the reason they will not lay down. She thinks it should get better once her hair has grown in.

Hello old friend. After almost a year of hating Buster she has decided he is a friend. She drags him everywhere. Usually by his tail. She even attempts to get him down the stairs. I am impressed at her creativity.
I wanted to put the above pictures in so you could see how ratty her hair looked. Even when you had just washed it she still looked dirty.

On our way in...I came prepared!

Post hair cut reward . She deserved it!

They actually take a picture and give you a certificate for your first haircut. I thought that was a great idea. It will make a great memory.

With baby and dog in tow we are off having a new due for a soon to be 2 year old.

2 Year Anniversary

Mother's Day this year will had a different meaning for me. Today is the two year anniversary of the day I was admitted to the hospital 27 weeks pregnant only to welcome my beautiful baby girl into this world a week later weighing 1 lb. 13 oz. Thank you so much for coming into this world safely and trusting me to be the one who has cared for you. I hope one day you will know and understand how truly blessed I feel to have you in my life. You are my miracle. I love you so much!

Bedtime essentials

Kaylies new fascination... her baby dolls, stuffed dog, and stuffed cat. Last night she had to have all of them before she would go to bed.

Birthday party

On Saturday we went to Alex's 3rd birthday and had a blast. They found a company that brings the petting zoo to your house. It was awesome. The first time we went in to see the animals Kaylie was incredibly nervous and would not let go of me. After a few minutes of sitting she became brave and tried to feed the goats. Other than that she wanted nothing to do with the animals. It was a very similar experience to our Easter pictures with the lamb. Anytime an animal came close she took off in the other direction.

I figured this was out of the question but thought I would try it anyway. They had pony rides and decided to put Kaylie on it. I am pretty sure the staff thought I was a terrible person because they kept asking if she was ready to get off and looked mortified that I told them no even though my child was crying. By the time we had finished she was still a little frightened but had stopped crying. I knew it would just take a few minutes.

This picture was taken a few minutes before she choked and spewed all over Darla's floor. I saw it but knew that if I tried to make a run for it we would be worse off then if I just turned her away from Fletch. Fletch thanked us afterwards.

Take 2: Knowing that Kaylie was scared of the animals on our first attempt I did not push it and make her go back in. Really...I felt so guilty about her throwing up all over herself and having to change I did not feel the need to torture her any more than I already had. Surprisingly, she decided to take it upon herself and go in. Even though she wanted to be there the picture above shows where she was the entire time. At one point she tried to hang on the fence. When I asked her if she was "all done" she was quick to answer "no!" Whatever you want baby girl.

After staring the pony down for a good 5 minutes Kaylie actually waved at him and wanted to pet him. She was happy until the picture below happened. The minute the pony put his head over the fence Kaylie yelled and jumped back without even skipping a beat. That ended her face to face time with the pony.

Right after I took this picture she found some brushes in a basket that was on the other side of this fence. Even though my child has low immunity I am not a huge germ freak but I freaked about this. These brushes are used on all of the animals and I watched as my child put it on her hand and rubbed it against her clothes. I knew if I took it away the situation would be a lot worse than just giving in. So...the good mother I am, I picked my daughter up and showed her how to brush the pony. I figured if I was controlling how the brush was used it would stay out of her mouth and I could immediately disinfect her afterwards. Mission accomplished.

Kaylie and Fletch are truly best buds. They love imitating teach other and constantly laugh at each other. Kaylie had a bottle of water and Fletch insisted he have one too. Kaylie put hers on the window and Fletch followed. When one would drink the other would drink. It was the funniest thing. It was like a race. They would look at each other, both grab the drinks, and drink at the same time. How can that not make you smile?!?

The good and the bad

With the weather being so nice the last few days we have come home and gone straight outside to play. It is amazing how much happier every one in our family is having quality family time on the porch. This includes the dogs. It has been so much fun having a child that is old enough to enjoy it with us. This is how Jason and I always pictured ourselves once we had a child.

Now to my title...Most of this post is good. I only have one BAD yet funny at the same time.

Lately, Kaylie has started making 2 word phrases with some of the words she is really good at saying. So far she has said...You tell me....do you think she is a daddy's girl?

*mommy/daddy (combined)
* daddy swing
* daddy swing me
* night daddy

The other thing she is getting good at is role playing. We were sitting outside and I watched her as she turned her babies on there bellies, patted there backs and told them night night. Where does she get that from? I laughed!

Recently, we taught her how to help us feed the dogs. Her role is to pick up the bowls, bring them to us, wait until we put the food in and then take it back to Bailey's spot for the dog to inhale. Now Kaylie takes it upon herself (even when they have just finished eating) to pick the bowls up, open the closet, take out the scoop and try to feed the dogs on her own. You have to watch her. She is sneaky. No wonder Bailey has grown to like her!

THE BAD
Kaylie walked over to a pile of poop in the yard and picked it up. I saw her bend over and pick something up and drop it. I freaked, grabbed her and ran her to the bathroom to wash up. I did not put her back down until she had washed her hands several times. Oops!
