MOPS egg hunt

This years egg hunt was so much different than previous years.  Their were more kids and more kids as well as a soon to be four year old ready to go.  She wanted to go so badly she refused to play until the hunt was done.  It made for a long 30 minutes before we actually got started.  Since we broke the kids into two groups I decided to let her go and help put the eggs down for the little ones.  She loved this and it took my shadow away for a good 10 minutes.  When it was finally her time to go she did not disappoint.  She had to be reminded a few times to keep going and not stop to open her eggs.  That aside she came out with a basket full of eggs to open.  Not sure what she enjoyed more finding the eggs or opening them.

Mommy's roses

This is Texas

I have always wanted to take pictures in the bluebonnets but have never actually gotten my act together early enough to do it.  This year almost turned out to be the same until I needed to get out of the house one lazy Saturday afternoon.  Promising to let Kaylie use my camera to take her own pictures she turned out to be a great model for me to practice my photography skills.  As I take time to look back at these pictures I realize this is what Texas is about!

Here are a few of the pictures Kaylie took with my camera.  It was a little too heavy for her so I would hold the lens but she was the one who aimed the picture before taking it.  I was pretty impressed.  My favorite was the one of me.  She did that all on her own.

To daddy...love Kaylie

For daddy's birthday Kaylie helped me make daddy's favorite family recipe.  She did a great job with it and followed the directions I gave her a lot better this time around.  Without any additional coughs or sneezes to season it the cake turned out great.  Happy birthday daddy!

Pretty polish

Up until now little miss has shown no interest in having her finger nails painted so the day she said she wanted it I went out and bought her some nail polish specifically designed for kids just in case she decided she didn't like it once it was on.  Glad we did that because everyone ended up with their nails painted by her.  Thankfully, one wash and it was off.  Now we can't get her to stop wanting to put it on.

Happy surprise

In a last minute decision Nonna and Eli decided to hop in the car and come up to see us.  We love unexpected surprises and this was a great one.  Once we knew they were coming we decided to take Elias and Kaylie to the zoo.  This time around we started in the childrens' area so we didn't miss the chance to feed and pet the animals.  By the time we got there the food for the fish was almost gone so it was a good choice.  We ended up spending several hours there and successfully wore two little ones out by the time we got home.
