ICE exhibit

After lunch we surprised Grandma Chris by taking her to see the Charlie Brown themed ice exhibit. Each year they choose a different them and spend months creating an exhibit for everyone to view from November to January. Jason and I went last year for the first time to see the Grinch. In my opinion Charlie Brown was so much better. The details were perfect. They didn't leave anything out. Everything is made out of ice...everything!!! To our surprise even Kaylie loved it. I worried she wouldn't put the jacket on but she did great. She got the smallest jacket they had and as you can imagine...it was huge. The entire time she held on to Jason. As she snuggled into him she would tell him things she noticed about the exhibit. You could tell she took everything in and enjoyed being there. Towards the end she would point to things and even ask me to take a picture of the things she liked. At the end of the exhibit you can go down an ice slide. Jason and I did it last year so we were ok passing on it this year. We will do it again when Kaylie is old enough and actually wants to go down it.

Pointing out Charlie Brown.

This was the picture she wanted me to take. She loves Snoopy.

I love Linus and his blanket. One of my favorite characters.

We tried to get Kaylie to walk through Snoopy's house but she refused. Jason tried to take her and she started to freak out so we decided not to push it.

The last scene before the slides. All of the characters in a circle singing. Very well done!

At the end with a smile on her face. Shocked at how happy she was.

This girl loves her some trains!

Choo Choo...

First year she agreed to wear gloves. She liked them so much she didn't want to take them off.

Gaylord Texan

Not used to staying home for Christmas Eve we had to figure out what to do in the DFW area that would bring in the Christmas spirit. Since Grandma Chris came to visit we decided to take her to the Gaylord Texan. It was a great choice filled with a day of fun things to do. This was also a great choice with the weather. It was not a pretty day out by any stretch of the imagination so being able to do something inside was a big deal.

If you look at Jason's leg you can see Kaylie hiding in the background. She was not ready for her picture ops.

Watching the running water with daddy.

Love this picture! The glow in both of their eyes is beautiful.

It may be just my opinion but in this picture I feel like she looks like a spitting image of me.

Jason had gone to check out a restaurant so we decided to do some photo ops. Kaylie was happy so why not take advantage of it.

Even though she wanted a balloon animal she wasn't to excited about Mr. Elf. She finally gave him a smile towards the end. He definitely worked for that smile.

For doing it herself her hair doesn't look too bad.

The first attempt at her hair was definitely better.

The train track is in the shape of a guitar.

Galleria

A few days before Christmas we enjoyed some time at the Galleria Shea, Grace, and Ella. I had never been to the Galleria during the holiday season so it was a treat to enjoy all of the decorations. I know the first and second picture are pretty much the same but I couldn't decide which one I liked better so why not use both.

She picked them out!

Tangled

During the Christmas break Kaylie and I met up with Felicia and Kalie to see their very first movie, Tangled. We went and saw it on 3D which made me a little nervous. She didn't wear her glasses but it didn't seem to bother her. Surprisingly, she did a great job. We sat on the end of the row which allowed the girls to stand up when they got tired of sitting. Their were a few times she became scared but made it through having really enjoyed the movie. Every time she sees a preview or a toy with Rapunzel on it she gets so excited and talks about how much she enjoyed the movie. Her favorite part...She loved how long Rapunzel's hair was. She would take her hands and twirl them all over to show how her hair was everywhere.

Kaylie, Skipper, and boots

Kaylie and I went to visit one of our favorite people, Ms. Kristen and her doggy Skipper. She loves going to Ms. Kristen's and asks to go back daily. She and Skipper are best buddies in Kaylie's eyes. I think Skipper is still trying to decide what to make of this girl that takes his toys and sleeps in his bed. She ended the day by trying to walk in my boots. She loves to wear them even though they go up past her knees.

I love this dog!!!

I love that today is 1/11/11. That is pretty darn cool.

My new ride

Jason and I were hoping to make it another year with my car. We have not had any car payments and really wanted things to stay that way. Unfortunately my car had other ideas. The cost for the amount of things that needed to be repaired would not make it worth fixing up to be ready to trade in next year so we went ahead and decided it was the right time to get a new car. I feared taking Kaylie car shopping with us. To our surprise she loved it and did a fantastic job and was so incredibly well behaved. The picture below was not the car we bought but I thought she was so incredibly precious.

Time for a lonnnng break!

One of my favorite things to do as a stay at home mom is that I get the opportunity to go to all of Kaylie's school things. I love it and know it means a lot to her!!! This particular event was her holiday party. I love the picture of her with the green mouth after eating the cupcake.

Her teacher...she was so excited to give her the gift.

Ms. G. is the classroom assistant. She talks about her all the time. She is amazing with all of the kids.
