Pump it up

A few weekends ago we were invited to Conner's birthday at Pump It Up. For those of you that have never been this place has two rooms filled with a bunch of inflatables for kids as well as parents to play/bounce on. At a previous Pump It Up party Kaylie was so terrified we spend 30 minutes in the lobby playing on the bench. Knowing this I decided we would show up fashionably late so that we were there for a little jumping and then the cake and ice cream. To my surprise Kaylie got in and started to jump. She watched me get in and followed. It took a good 15 minutes but she did it. From that point on she was unstoppable. Her favorite thing was this obstacle course. With mommy in tow we did it MANY times!!! Mommy did not realize she was going to get a workout. I had a moment of nervousness when we got to the second picture and stressed about how I was going to get her up this step climb. After the first time she started to do it on her own with no help. I was so incredibly proud of my monkey. Give her some time and she will conquer her fear. Please excuse picture quality. They were taken with my phone.

New Shades (1 of many)

After a fun day at MOPS and a shopping trip to Target Kaylie is sporting her new, too large for her face pair of sunglasses.

Five minutes later I realized it was a little quiet.

Five more minutes...By the time we got home she had slid even farther down than this with her hands off Meow Meow. So sweet.

Silly Dog

Silly...I mean crazy dog!!! Seriously!!! Several things turn Shiner into a completely different dog. Storms, plastic bags, the toaster oven, and beeping fire alarms. These events cause a massive take over of Shiner's body causing him to become possessed. He has been known to dig into the carpet, open doors, put himself into the garage, put himself under a bed, and jump up onto book shelves to chew up the blinds. He has set off our alarm, tried to climb up a ladder, and as you can see below jumping on tables. At the first onset he will start shaking violently and after all is said and done he will not calm down for at least a few hours. Thankfully, after some serious doggy anti-anxiety medication the second picture is the end result. We feel bad giving it to him but it keeps him from being miserable.

I promised

I promised I would never take a picture of Kaylie on the potty. I did not however promise to do the same for Mr. Bear.

Arbor Hills Nature Preserve

Last Saturday was beautiful. We decided to take advantage of it and go to our old stopping grounds so Kaylie could play at the park and then hike the trails. We had a great time and loved sharing the place Jason and I spent a lot of our time at so many years ago.

She is really good at doing the monkey bars. She does it pretty much on her own. We just have to be there to catch her when she gets tired.

She has become fearless with slides. She will go down any and all slides now. She is so proud of herself once she is down.

She insisted on pulling the wagon. She would not let us do it. At least it wore her out.

First I-Hop cupcake

Before going to Arbor Hills we went to I Hop for breakfast. Kaylie looked at the children's menu and for the first time ever insisted we order her a "cupcake." We were so shocked we were more than willing to get it for her. She was so excited and we were so proud. Definitely a good first.

Just like my daddy

She and daddy picked this out together. She was excited to wear a hat just like he does.

Vitamin D

With a few gorgeous days outside Kaylie has been "yelling" at me to go outside with her. We can go out several times a day for a good hour to an hour and a half and she still refuses to go in. She is definitely getting that from her dad but is slowing turning me into that person as well. I want her to be able to enjoy this weather.

She decided to bring her ball with her. She did a great job at kicking it, running after it, and then yelling "soccer kick," and doing it again.

ST & GT

The other day we got together for some time with Way Way, Claire, and Gavin. Since Way Way is almost done with her maternity leave we are trying to play as much as we can. This time we decided to go to story time in Carrollton and then to Gatti Town in Frisco. Both were fun.

The story time we went to puts Frisco's to shame. The lady that ran it interacted so much more with the children than the one we usually go to. She was able to keep the kids attention and the parents actually sat and participated instead of having social hour.

Gatti Town was even better. When we got their we were pretty much the only ones in the game room. Kaylie and Claire were able to run around where ever they wanted and no one cared because no one was their to be disturbed. They rode the merry go round several times and then played games over and over again. Even as we left their were still so few people their we were able to relax and enjoy being their. We will definitely take advantage of a weekday again.

First time on a real medium size merry go round.

They would start playing a game and get bored before it was over and just walk away from it. Way Way and I finished several of their games.

We were sad this turned out blurry.

The lovely couple

Last weekend was one of our first beautiful days in a long time so we decided to take advantage of it and go to the park with Kaylie and the Stall family. They had a blast and were able to get some energy out before it got too cold out and we had to head back.

First time for her to go down this slide. Usually I have to go with her. We go down a lot slower when mommy is with her. It is not really made for a mommy/daddy to go down.

After it got too cold to be outside the kids came back and played. I hope we don't make them hate each other in the future.

More...more...

What was I thinking?!? Kaylie now understands that these ride on toys take money and she didn't care how much. When we finally ran out of money the only way we could get them away was to take them to the food court for lunch. I think Kaylie is officially over her fear of moving toys.

Random pics

Here are some random pics from the last few weeks. Please excuse the quality of some of them. Several of them were taken with my phone.

The other day Kaylie was sick so we decided to stay home and play. As I was doing laundry she called me into the guest bedroom to let me know that all of her babies were taking a nap. She decided to climb in and snuggle with them as well.

With the crazy weather we have been having we have gotten a lot of use out of our warm clothes. Here Kaylie is bundled up and ready to go. Lately her purse has been an important accessory to her wardrobe. What you don't know is if you look inside you will find the tomboy part of her...blocks and cars. Cars are one of her favorite things to play with. Every time we go to the grocery store she gets to pick out a 1.00 Hot Wheels car. Love it!
I see you!

Trying to avoid going to sleep Kaylie grabbed her chair and pulled her piano up to it. Our future pianist!

Shocked she actually put the crown on. Usually she avoids things on her head.

Messy face from eating her first strawberry. Now she asks for them all the time.
