Babes Chicken...yum!

If you ever decide to visit you can almost guarantee we will be taking you to Babes. Babes is known for their down home country cooking, larger portion sizes, and their all you can eat sides. When they first opened they only offered chicken fried steak and fried chicken and as they have grown have expanded their menu to include a few more options.

Since we were pretty sure Inez and Rafael had never been to something like this we knew they needed to experience this crazy Texas adventure. Needless to say...they were happy and full by the time they left. They were so full they didn't eat the rest of the night.

Still white

After school she was begging to go back outside to play. Since we had 6 to 8 inches of snow and hadn't melted why not so after school we went outside to play. Daddy stayed home and worked from home so he got to come out and play as well. It turned out to be some good quality family time.

Its a beautiful day

As I upload these pictures I have the theme song from Mr. Rogers neighborhood running through my head. This was by far my favorite snow fall out of the three. It was so incredibly white and pure. It fell fast and was perfect for having snowball fights and making snowmen. The best part was how much fun Kaylie had. This was the first year Kaylie loved to play in the snow. Up until now she refused to stay in it longer than a few minutes. This time she was out for over 30 minutes. She had a blast. She loved picking up the snow and throwing it. Her favorite part was building the snowman and adding to the gigantic mound of snow that had been made for her to sit on. The thing that was most surprising was when she started to roll her own ball to make her own snowman. Too awesome.

This picture and the next were her doing a little dance to show how excited she was. She couldn't wait to get out and play.

I can not tell you how many layers she had on. This was the only reason she stayed out so long.

First time she would wear a had and gloves.

She kept having clothing malfunctions. Her hats kept coming off and her pants kept falling down. Didn't seem to slow her down.

One big ol' snowball. It was as big as she was and...

strong enough to hold a child.

Rolling her first snowball for her own snowman. I was surprised she was actually able to roll it.

I was really surprised she was able to carry it. She carried it all over the place.

The part on the top that is sticking out was her contribution to the next part of the snowman.

Throwing snowballs.

Scenery

Our first snow of the year was on a Sunday (1/9/11). It came in quick and dropped a good amount of snow. The snowflakes were huge and covered the ground so quickly. Absolutely beautiful and great snowman making weather.
